Music. [myoo-zik]
–noun
1.
an art of sound in time that expresses ideas and emotions insignificant forms through the elements of rhythmmelody, harmony, and colour.
2.
the tones or sounds employed, occurring in single line(melody) or multiple lines (harmony), and sounded or to besounded by one or more voices or instruments, or both.
3.
musical  work or compositions for singing or playing.

Ignore the cliché and cheeky use of definition, but music is one medium that I can definitely and comfortably express my emotions through. My parents have never been more than averagely in tune with music. With my Dad clapping to Freddy Mercury's "Queen"  whilst chanting "We will..we will.." and my Mum tapping her fingers on the steering wheel to the famous drum solo of Phil CoIlins' "In the air tonight", it was never the worst foundation to build my musical repertoire on but it was never the most rounded. However I discovered music myself at the age of eight when I decided that I wanted to play guitar.

English Language.

At school I took a shine to English Language. The power it has to evoke emotion. Its complexity that can inspire individuals whilst overwhelming others. At college, I lost my shine. Stopped reading, writing and analysing language all together. But recently I found my long lost love for it, the spark it provides me, that old burning flame we share in our simple relationship. And I need a medium to express it, a mechanism to release it, a catharsis. So as I play guitar and try my best to hold a note, I've taken to song writing. It's working and I'm not producing number one records or multi platinum albums; but I've found a medium and its working..

Opportunity. The European Regionals.

Firstly, I'd like to apologise for the lateness of this post in relation to its topic but so much happened and I had so many thoughts that I needed the time to digest it all to produce something readable.

European Regionals. Those two words still give me a buzz and a tingle down my spine, even with a bulging disc at L4. But seriously, it was the most insane 3 days of my life.

Unscared

Okay, so I'm not unscared, I'm petrified. A worrier. In so many situations. And today I realised this. For so long of my adolescent life I have worried about events that really haven't had that much direct effect on how my life plans out and today I worried about such a minute happening in someone else's life. Today I realised that I worry too much.

Monday. Big Big Week.

Crossfit European Regionals are in t-11 days and I CANNOT WAIT. Well I'm going to have to but really, it is an exciting prospect to volunteer and hopefully see some incredible athletes such as Mikko Salo. I only say Mikko Salo because I have watched hundreds of clips of him competing and training when he was forced upon me at an early stage by Dan Crisp, my mentor, training partner, flatmate and best mate. And thanks to Dan, Mikko running like a whippet up a hill will forever be engrained in my mind, I want to be that fast.

Just the beginning...

My first year at University is complete, summer is here and I have direction. Hence the blog.
For some time I have been trying twitter, facebook, the usual social networking and media sites; but it's time to go all out and write a blog about me, myself and yes, I.
The whole point of this is for me to express my thoughts and feelings and just see where it takes me, whether the worldwide web likes it or not.
